Can it really be 50 years? In my heart, I'm still the same 18-year-old I was back then (though the mirror begs to differ). Never mind. Life has been very good to me, and I am grateful. I've enjoyed a long, varied and successful career as a writer, editor, and at the end of it, executive director of the Toronto Botanical Garden. I had a nearly 30-year marriage (though it ended in divorce some 20 years ago), numerous lifelong friendships, extensive travel around the globe and lots of fun and adventures. I have two great kids and three beautiful grandchildren. My cup runneth over! Two years ago, I retired, and life has never been better. I'm learning new things, traveling, looking after grandchildren, gardening, and in general enjoying everything that comes my way. I hope your life has been good, too.
